In this time of intensity and great changes all around us and within us, we are offering this opportunity to dive deep into personal healing work to release what is no longer needed and deeply nourish our body, mind, and spirit. Through sacred teachings, connecting with the plant allies, and working with the elements, we find guidance, joy, and wellness in our lives.
The Patziapa Sanctuary on the shores of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala is a powerful ancestral and elemental site that supports transformational work and evokes inner peace through its incredible beauty and abundant medicine plants.
We will be working in the sacred geometries of the maloca (roundhouse), temescal (Mayan sweatlodge), ancestral altars of the ancient pyramid, and the land and lake itself that vibrate with the energetics of the volcanoes. This retreat takes us through the energies in the Mayan Calendar of Wuku (7) Kan- the balance of our life force energy, Waqxaqui (8) Keme- the completion of our transformation, and Belejeb Kiej - the birthing of the Medicine Person. This is a special day to the Maya.
Schedule:
Thurs Jan 6th (5 Akabal) - Arrive in Guatemala City, overnight.
Fri Jan 7th (6 Kat) - Leave at 10 am to drive to Santiago Atitlan, lunch at the Tiosh Abaj Hotel & Restaurant, boat ride to Patziapa. Orientation and opening circle, dinner.
Sat Jan 8th (7 Kan) - Breakfast, teachings, lunch, harvest plants for use in the herbal baths in temescal (sweatlodge), late afternoon temescal ceremony, dinner.
Sun Jan 9th (8 Keme) - Breakfast, set up mesas/altars, lunch, teachings/working with medicine altars, dinner, night prayer vigil to work with the medicines & the fire.
Mon Jan 10th (9 Kiej) – Rest and integration, Mayan Fire Ceremony to give gratitude.
Tues Jan 11th (10 Q’anil) - Sunrise ceremony, brunch, personal time to integrate, afternoon sharing circle & teachings, dinner.
Wed Jan 12th (11 Toj) - Breakfast, closing circle, depart Patziapa at 1 pm, Lunch at Tiosh Abaj, travel to Guatemala City, dinner and overnight
Thurs Jan 13th (12 T’zi) - Fly out of Guatemala City
Information about your Guatemalan Retreat :
Financial offering includes: shared rooms at hotel in Guatemala City, airport shuttle, breakfast morning after arrival and dinner the night of arrival. (Any additional food would need to be covered by people directly at the hotel). Pre-arranged shuttle from Guatemala City to Santiago Atitlan. We will be staying at the Patziapa Sanctuary in shared rooms at the edge of beautiful, sacred Lake Atitlan, a short boat ride across the lake where we will provide meals, boat transportation, ceremonial materials, teachings, and support of the ongoing upkeep of the sanctuary. We also encourage donations to the Medicine People who will be sharing with us.
Loving Offering; $2275 per person. Space for this retreat is limited to 13 people.
NOT Included in your experience: airfare, extra meals in Guatemala City, shopping expenses, gifts for elders, tips you may want to offer staff, excursions you choose to take outside the planned group activities.
